MISSY LLOYD BARLOW

POST H-J
After H-J, I graduated with a BS in Psychology from Texas A&M where I met my husband Trey. I then graduated from Lamar with Master's in Psychology. Later, I got my teaching certificate and taught at a wonderful school here in Plano. After finishing my diagnostician’s certificate, I worked part-time for a couple of years diagnosing children’s learning disabilities at schools for PISD. I now stay at home full-time with my three children.

THE FAMILY
Trey and I live in Plano, Texas. We have been married for 13 years and have Chandler, 7;

Andrew, 5 1/2 ; and Josey
will be 1 in August. (we don't have a current family picture yet!)

VOLUNTEERING
I have been active in Mothers of Preschoolers, Junior League of Plano, volunteering at the boys’ school and at church, and I also help with the kids various sports and activities. Although, this third one pretty much has me down to just trying to keep up with the laundry!

HUSBAND, FATHER, MECHANICAL ENGINEER
My husband Trey is a mechanical engineer with his MBA from SMU. He is a wonderful father and husband. He works in management at Fisher Controls: they manufacture valves for pipelines for refineries. We met at A&M, we dated for 5 years before getting married, and we were married for over 5 years before having our first child. So, even if we planned not to be together, it would take til the end of time for it to happen!

LEGOS, LIZARDS & HOMESCHOOLING
My boys love Legos, baseball, their hermit crabs, fish, leopard gecko and just general fun. Chandler is in first grade and Andrew is in preK4 at a private Christian school. The boys’ school offers a university model program. The boys go to school on Mon./Wed./Fri. and I homeschool them on Tues./Thurs. Chandler is taking Chess as an elective this semester and loves it.

3 BIG PERSONALITIES
Chandler is very easy going, outgoing, bright and loves to talk, but not at school. He is well behaved like his mom! Andrew is shy and prefers action over talking. He has an incredible memory and tries to answer Chandler’s schoolwork questions. My baby Josey loves everything, especially slips of paper or anything else she finds on the floor she should not have!

BALL GAMES, THE SYMPHONY & CAMPING
On the weekends, we are at the boys’ baseball games, church, trying to take care of the house, or sometimes camping. We usually have season tickets for the children’s series at the Dallas Symphony and the Plano Repertory Theatre.

BROTHER SHAWN & KIDS
My younger brother Shawn (HJ class of 89) lives in Austin. He also graduated from Texas A & M and is now a software development manager. He has a 2 year old daughter and 5 year old twins (boy & girl) who are three months younger than my Andrew. All 6 cousins have a great time when we get together which is as often as we can.

VISITING OLD HAWKS
As far as old Hawks, I did get to visit Tammie over in the Netherlands in ‘97, we took trips to Paris and Germany. And Carrie’s mother’s guest quarters at her various homes have doubled as my San Antonio vacation digs! I am really enjoying reading the profiles and catching up with folks. I think the reunion will be a blast.
